The demand for social and political content has always been high. However, the war in Ukraine triggered a surge in the popularity of such projects, with more and more being launched online on platforms like YouTube.
TV Channel News Live had existed long before the war, but with a shift in focus, it required a proper reboot and refresh—a task I was assigned.
The major challenge was to preserve the original appearance of the logo while infusing it with new connotations and a fresh look, giving it more meaning while keeping it recognisable.

For the main opener, we decided to tell a brief story about the first weeks and months of the war. A pure white line, symbolising objectivity, weaves through the key events of that period, connecting them into a cohesive narrative with clear causes and consequences. In the final part, the line transitions into a stroke within the logo, representing the channel’s role in delivering the story.

Basic requirements
Although the use of elements like lower thirds and call frames was necessary, it was crucial for the client to deviate from the typical news style. As part of the digital transformation, these key elements had to be reimagined in a way that preserved their functionality but introduced a fresh and distinct design approach.
We developed a system that allowed us to present a fresh perspective on the style of a modern, digital news channel. By incorporating the concept of the line into various design elements, we maintained full functionality while offering a wide range of combinations for different elements, ensuring versatility and cohesion.
